Rationale

My topic is about cultural inequality in NZ. I intended to demonstrate one concept in two visual ways. My concept is based on a report from Vitoria University about more and more Maori are not be able to speak Maori. The first poster presents a Maori female whose mouth is sealed by an English flag. There is an issue of the printing process. There supposed to have a lighter background with Maori symbol further demonstrate the concept.  Another poster shows a fern which symbolise English culture. I was mangaged to create a style of woodcut. However, the key objects are not be able to be emphasize on the picture with balk and white. Then, i put color on it and adjusts the text arrangement. I seek to show the contrast between the small weak fern and the large flag under it. Both of the composition are rendered in dark color which seeks to allow the viewers take/considered it seriously.
